Droid : Icons Have Come A Long Way
The Droid and the icons it has onboard reflect the new smartphone technology. The Droid icons are smooth, easy to identitfy and have a tendency to convey what they mean in a comparatively nice presentation that allows for ease in understandingIt used to be, you had three to five icons on your mobile telephone to tell you everything that is taking place with your cellular world. These days there is plenitude of icons, and at the forefront are the iPhone and the Verizon Droid.
Now you can see not only voicemail as an icon, but if you missed a call, if there's a call on hold, new voicemail or new email message. You'll know if there's an issue with your SMS or MMS delivery, if there is new instant message, if info is syncing or if a song is playing on your phone. The Droid and the icons it has onboard reflect the new smartphone technology.
If the ringer is off in silent mode or if the speakerphone is on - there is a separate icon for it. You can tell if there is a call on hold, if the call is forwarded or if there us a calling progress. It will also tell you if GPS is enabled and if it is working.
The Droid icons are smooth, easy to identify and have a tendency to convey what they mean in a comparatively nice presentation that allows for ease in comprehension. The Droid needs this level of icons as it does so much. It even has an airplane mode where wireless services are instantly set to off.
All these icons are show in the standing bar on the pinnacle of the Droid. Naturally, you get the usual icons, but there also are icons for outstanding Notifications and Messages. This indicates that all of the calls, texts and new emails are all shown in this section. They will be there till you look after them. This is superb for when you're away from your cell-phone.
The Droid doesn't give audio reminders, but it is doing give you plenty of icons and a green blinking light which will activate the status bar so that you can take care of any outstanding actions that are shown by the assorted icon notices. All that you need to do then is turn on your Droid and touch the express icon that fits with an action. You can then sort it.
For as cool as the Droid is, often it needs to be rebooted. You can spot when this is occurring when the translucent wheel icon starts spinning nonstop. You will need to use the Advance Task Killer if you have it, and can use it. There are different types icons for diverse services and apps. Everything from apps to actions to take, Droid icons are easy to read and pretty clear cut.
