Droid : Icons Have Come a Long Way
The Droid and the icons it has onboard reflect the new smartphone technology. The Droid icons are smooth, easy to identitfy and have a tendency to convey what they mean in a comparatively nice show that allows for ease in understandingIt used to be, you had three to 5 icons on your cell phone to tell you everything that's occuring with your cellular world. Nowadays there is amplitude of icons, and at the forefront are the iPhone and the Verizon Droid.
Now you can see not only voicemail as an icon, but if you missed a call, if there is a call on hold, new voicemail or new e-mail message. You may know if there's an issue with your SMS or MMS delivery, if there is new instant message, if information is syncing or if a song is playing on your telephone. The Droid and the icons it has onboard reflect the new smartphone technology.
If the ringer is off in silent mode or if the speakerphone is on - there is a separate icon for it. You can tell if there is a call on hold, if the call is forwarded or if there us a calling progress. It will also tell you if GPS is enabled and if it is working.
The Droid icons are smooth, straightforward to identify and have a tendency to convey what they mean in a relatively nice presentation that allows for ease in comprehension. The Droid needs this level of icons as it does so much. It has got an aircraft mode where wireless services are instantly set to off.
All of these icons are show in the standing bar on the top of the Droid. Naturally, you get the usual icons, but there also are icons for outstanding Notifications and Messages. This means that all of the calls, SMS messages and new e-mails are all shown in this section. They will be there till you take care of them. This is superb for when you are away from your cell telephone.
The Droid doesn't give audio reminders, but it does give you masses of icons and a green blinking light that will turn on the status bar so that you can take care of any outstanding actions that are shown by the assorted icon notices. All that you need to do then is turn on your Droid and touch the express icon that measures up to an action. You can then deal with it.
For as cool as the Droid is, occasionally it has to be rebooted. You can say when this is happening when the see-through wheel icon starts spinning non stop. You will need to use the Advance Task Killer if you have it, and can use it. There are various types icons for various services and apps. Everything from apps to actions to take, Droid icons are easy-to-read and pretty clear cut.
