Droid : Icons Have Come A Long Way
The Droid and the icons it has onboard reflect the new smartphone technology. The Droid icons are smooth, easy to identitfy and have a tendency to convey what they mean in a comparatively nice presentation that allows for ease in comprehensionIt used to be, you had 3 to 5 icons on your cell phone to tell you everything that is taking place with your cellular world. Today there is plenitude of icons, and at the forefront are the iPhone and the Verizon Droid.
Now you can see not only voicemail as an icon, but if you missed a call, if there's a call on hold, new voicemail or new e-mail message. You may know if there's a problem with your SMS or MMS delivery, if there is new instant message, if info is syncing or if a song is playing on your phone. The Droid and the icons it has onboard reflect the new smartphone technology.
If the ringer is off in silent mode or if the speakerphone is on - there is a separate icon for it. You can tell if there is a call on hold, if the call is forwarded or if there us a calling progress. It will also tell you if GPS is enabled and if it is working.
The Droid icons are smooth, simple to identify and have a tendency to convey what they mean in a comparatively nice display that allows for ease in understanding. The Droid desires this level of icons as it does so much. It's got an aircraft mode where wireless services are instantly set to off.
All of these icons are show in the standing bar on the top of the Droid. Of course, you get the usual icons, but there are icons for outstanding Notifications and Messages. This means that all of the calls, texts and new mails are all shown in this section. They're going to be there until you look after them. This is great for when you're away from your mobile phone.
The Droid doesn't give audio reminders, but it is doing give you plenty of icons and a green blinking light which will turn on the status bar so that you can look after any pending actions that are shown by the varied icon notices. All you need to do then is activate your Droid and touch the express icon that corresponds to an action. You can then fix it.
For as cool as the Droid is, occasionally it has to be rebooted. You can spot when this is occurring when the see-through wheel icon starts spinning nonstop. You will need to use the Advance Task Killer if you have it, and can use it. There are different types icons for various services and apps. Everything from apps to actions to take, Droid icons are easily read and pretty clear cut.
