The Droid icons are smooth, straightforward to identitfy and tend to convey what they mean in a comparatively nice display that allows for ease in understandingIt used to be, you had 3 to 5 icons on your mobile phone to tell you everything that's taking place with your cellular world. Today there is plenitude of icons, and at the forefront are the iPhone and the Verizon Droid. Now you can see not only voicemail as an icon, but if you missed a call, if there is a call on hold, new voicemail or new email message. You may know if there's an issue with your SMS or MMS delivery, if there is new instant message, if info is syncing or if a song is playing on your phone. The Droid and the icons it has onboard reflect the new smartphone technology. If the ringer is off in silent mode or if the speakerphone is on - there is a separate icon for it. You can tell if there is a call on hold, if the call is forwarded or if there us a calling progress. It will also tell you if GPS is enabled and if it is working. The Droid wants this level of icons because it does so much. It's got a plane mode where wireless services are instantly set to off. All these icons are show in the status bar on the apex of the Droid. Naturally, you get the usual icons, but there are also icons for outstanding Notifications and Messages. This indicates that all of the calls, SMS messages and new emails are all shown in this section. They're going to be there till you look after them. This is superb for when you're away from your cell telephone. The Droid doesn't give audio reminders, but it does give you plenty of icons and a green blinking light which will activate the status bar so you can take care of any outstanding actions that are shown by the varied icon notices. All that you need to do then is turn on your Droid and touch the specific icon that fits with an action. You can then deal with it. For as cool as the Droid is, sometimes it has to be rebooted. You can spot when this is happening when the see-through wheel icon starts spinning nonstop. You will need to use the Advance Task Killer if you have it, and can use it. There are different types icons for diverse services and apps. Everything from apps to actions to take, Droid icons are easy to read and pretty clear cut.
