Droid : Icons Have Come A Long Way
The Droid and the icons it has onboard reflect the new smartphone technology. The Droid icons are smooth, straightforward to identitfy and tend to convey what they mean in a relatively nice show that allows for ease in comprehensionIt used to be, you had three to five icons on your mobile telephone to tell you everything that is taking place with your cellular world. Today there is amplitude of icons, and at the forefront are the iPhone and the Verizon Droid.
Now you can see not only voicemail as an icon, but if you missed a call, if there is a call on hold, new voicemail or new e-mail message. You may know if there's an issue with your SMS or MMS delivery, if there is new instant message, if data is syncing or if a song is playing on your telephone. The Droid and the icons it has onboard reflect the new smartphone technology.
If the ringer is off in silent mode or if the speakerphone is on - there is a separate icon for it. You can tell if there is a call on hold, if the call is forwarded or if there us a calling progress. It will also tell you if GPS is enabled and if it is working.
The Droid icons are smooth, straightforward to identify and tend to convey what they mean in a comparatively nice presentation that allows for ease in comprehension. The Droid wants this level of icons because it does so much. It even has a plane mode where wireless services are mechanically set to off.
All of these icons are show in the standing bar on the apex of the Droid. Naturally, you get the common icons, but there also are icons for outstanding Notifications and Messages. This means that all of the calls, text messages and new mails are all shown in this section. They will be there until you take care of them. This is excellent for when you're away from your cell-phone.
The Droid doesn't give audio reminders, but it does give you lots of icons and a green blinking light that may turn on the status bar so that you can take care of any pending actions that are shown by the varied icon notices. All that you need to do then is turn on your Droid and touch the express icon that fits with an action. You can then deal with it.
For as cool as the Droid is, occasionally it has to be rebooted. You can tell when this is happening when the see though wheel icon starts spinning nonstop. You will need to use the Advance Task Killer if you have it, and can use it. There are various types icons for various services and apps. Everything from apps to actions to take, Droid icons are easily read and pretty clear cut.
