4. Japanese are famous for the erudition, diligence, unity, religiousness and high rates of increase of savings. All these advantages we, Americans, would like to impart to our children. And, nevertheless, even at such advantages the country slides to depression. Why?As Japanese-American in the fourth generation and the person familiar with both cultures, I can specify in one essential distinction. In the Japanese culture there is a concept itto rescue the personit. The shame is considered dishonour. The shame in a combination to failure is at the bottom for suicide. In other words, in the Japanese culture the death is more preferable than a shame.
In America all differently. After acceptance in 1986 of the Law on tax reform, billions dollars of the American real estate in literal sense were destroyed. This law has changed rules and has cancelled some of fictitious tax stimulus which blew up real estate cost. Collapses in the share market, the market of the real estate and crash of ssudno-savings (bank) system have there and then followed. Instead of dragging out overestimated on cost and the in debt system of the real estate, the government took the initiative on itself and has made bankrupt the insolvent industry (ssudno-savings branch of the finance).
As soon as I hear, how people of any nationality say these words I recollect the Japanese roots which demand that the person was clever, is always right and saved the face. Funny, but my American roots for some reason too are pleasant to me.
Try to remember, as the rich daddy explained me a difference between winners and losers. He spoke: itLosers throw winners and adjoin losers. Winners throw losers and adjoin winnersit. For rich sirs it was one of life golden rules. Now, becoming more senior, I know, how much valuable there was this rule for me, especially when I broke it. Besides, I saw many people who broke this golden rule, clinging to hopeless job, the hopeless enterprises, hopeless marriage, hopeless friends, hopeless investments and hopeless ideas, only to avoid a recognition that they have made a mistake. About it in America speak not itto save the faceit, and itto make a good mine at bad gameit.
