Why Do You Need to Use PNG File Format in Your Web Design?
The advantages of including PNG images in website designing over other formats ;for instance, GIF and JPEG; the image format works well if you need to make good and efficient web graphics that will entice your customersThe PNG file format was introduced a few years back; it was brought out for consumers in the mid 90's to cover the drawbacks of the popular GIF file type. However, it failed to create ripples because the the browsers of the time were unable to support the progressive attributes of PNG so internet designers and creators were forced to include it in their designs restrictedly. One of the major hindrances faced by the format was Microsoft Internet Explorer which was one of the most popular browsers of that period; IE had limited provision for PNG support consequently the format could only be used to a bare minimum. Self Optimization is possible in PNG: A serious problem that web designers have to tackle very often is the fact that the contrast and the brightness of the monitor has to be adjusted to see the pictures appropriately; this problem occurs due to the difference in the Gamma setting used for the different monitors. Gamma setting is a technique used to spread the luminance across the display surface. However, diverse operating systems use a variety of Gamma settings. Therefore, a picture that is color corrected for Windows will seem wrong when seen on Mac. Again, in this case the flexible PNG image type can help you out, in PNG, you can save the pictures with an inherent Gamma correction feature so whatever operating system you are working on; the Gamma settings will be changed on its own to display a file with the amazing contrast and brightness.
